A large number of talented professionals consider themselves part of Clarke Construction Group. Excellent communication skills and teamwork are essential for all candidates.

We operate across the North Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, and Gloucestershire - generally within a 20-mile radius of Moreton-in-Marsh and often in areas with limited public transportation - therefore, a full driving licence is mandatory for all positions.

All roles are full-time with immediate starts unless otherwise stated. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with optional weekend work. Salaries are dependent on experience and paid weekly.

Carpenter

Job Description

We seek an experienced Carpenter to join our dynamic team, working on diverse and prestigious properties throughout the Cotswolds.

Main Activities and Duties

  • Perform first and second fix carpentry
  • External cladding installation
  • Fit external and internal doors/windows
  • Optional experience in cut roofs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years carpentry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong teamwork abilities

General Builder

The General Builder is vital in delivering high-quality construction and renovation projects within a 20-mile radius of Moreton-in-Marsh.

Main Activities and Duties

  • Execute projects according to architectural plans
  • Collaborate with various trades and subcontractors
  • Identify and resolve on-site challenges efficiently
  • Maintain a safe, organized worksite
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely

Requirements

  • Solid construction knowledge and experience

General Labourer

Main Activities and Duties

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' construction industry experience

Groundworker & Banksman

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Groundworker and Banksman to join our team, working on high-end residential projects and heritage restorations across the Cotswolds. We require an individual who understands the importance of precision at the earliest stages of a build and who can maintain the highest standards of safety when managing plant and vehicle movements on site.

Main Activities and Duties

  • Assisting groundworkers with excavation, trenching, and site preparation.
  • Providing physical support during the installation of drainage and utility ducting.
  • Acting as a Banksman to guide excavators, telehandlers, and delivery vehicles.
  • Maintaining clear communication with operators to prevent site accidents.
  • Ensuring the site remains clean, tidy, and free of hazards.
  • Handling materials and tools to support the efficiency of the groundworks team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a labourer on construction sites.
  • Banksman ticket/qualification advantageous
  • Strong awareness of health and safety when working around heavy plant.
  • Physical fitness and a proactive "can-do" attitude.

Painter and Decorator

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, working on both domestic and commercial properties across the region. This role involves a mix of interior and exterior work, with a focus on delivering premium finishes to a high standard.

Main Activities and Duties

  • Preparing surfaces, tools, and materials for painting and decorating tasks
  • Painting and decorating internal and external areas of residential and commercial buildings
  • Ensuring work is completed in line with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area, including thorough cleanup after tasks
  • Assisting with other general maintenance duties as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience in painting and decorating, with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and safe working practices
  • Strong organisational skills and pride in keeping a clean working environment
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team
