Extensive Cottage Renovation

A project to be proud of

A cottage in name, but in reality this is an extensive Grade II listed, Cotswold retreat over three floors refurbished yet retaining original features that we refurbished on time and in budget.

Renovation of Cotswold stone roof. Replacement of cast iron guttering where necessary. Removed and replaced metal casement windows. The front garden was landscaped.

This is a perfect example of where a traditional building has been brought back to life with a sympathetic nod to the 'old' but with the incorporation of modern elements that enhance today's lifestyle. Remedial works to the stonework were carried out. The stone walls were re-built.

The rear open plan breakfast/dining room opens the house up to its grounds and brings in the light to enhance the interior. These traditional flush, double door, double glazed casement doors were custom made. They are made with slimline, leaded double glazing placed between the Cotswold stone pillars. The pillars themselves were taken out and re-built and they were re-formed to frame the new windows.

The roof flashing here was re-done in black to match the metal casement windows. The Japanese downpipe drain adds an interesting feature to the glazed corner, also enhanced by the downlighting installed. A beautiful add on where new meets old but adding a hint of 'modern' touches .
New parts of the patio were created to accommodate new drainage. The patio was re-laid in stone to complement the Cotswold stone building.

This drainage well, was made into a feature. Previously made of timber decking, this was removed and replaced with a wrought iron grate carried by re-capped low walls.
